Facing the next Brexit deadline set for October 31st and knowing nothing has been achieved till today to avoid a hard Brexit, we are seriously worried about this and once again want to point out what will be needed to continue to handle your UK export.
To avoid congestion in the ferry ports, the harbour office of the Port of Rotterdam, together with the shippinglines, have set up a system called Portbase which requires all customsdocumention to be uploaded in the Portbase system. Only when this is done and connected to the ferrybooking made by us the trailers will get access to the ferryterminals to be shipped over to the UK.
If you want to make use of our services for EU export clearances we need following information:
- EORI number of both shippers/suppliers as wel as the consignee in the UK
- Power of attorney authorising us to act as direct representative, this will be send to you upon request. Please email to p.smit@windhorst.nl
- Suppliers invoice with following information:
- Shippers/suppliers full details
- Name of the consignee with EORI number
- Vat number of both shippers/suppliers and consignee
- Number of packages
- Description of goods
- Grossweight
- Nettweight
- Country of origin
- INCO terms (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incoterms)
- Correct customs HS code , value specified by each individual HS code.
Upon arrival in the Uk all goods will have to be customs cleared. Attached to this letter we have listed up a few companies who will be able to help you with this. There is no contract or link between these companies and our company and you are free to choose any of these or other contacts you may have who will be able to do this. Windhorst is not liable for any of the duties these companies may carry out on your behalf.
All Uk companies can register themselves for the transitional Simplified Procedures. This system allows the importer to do the clearance after the goods have arrived. If you have received this TSP registration please provide us with this authority letter and reference.
If your supplier issues the export documents themselves they will always have to forward these documents to us as we will have to take care of uploading this in the Portbase system. We kindly request you to supply us with above information as soon as possible so we can get everything prepared for the export to continue even after a hard Brexit.
